Steps For Making This Spicy Sesame Tofu

- The Base Ingredients: Start by prepping the key herbs, spices and aromatics in a heat-proof bowl.
- Minced garlic
- Finely grated ginger
- Gochugaru or red chili flakes
- Sesame seeds
- The Hot Oil Sizzle: Heat 1-1.5 tablespoons of sesame oil until searing hot, then pour it over the chilli-garlic mixture, letting the oil sizzle and infuse all those beautiful flavors together. Give everything a quick mix to combine.

- Building the Sauce: Next, add your liquid ingredients and adjust the flavors with a splash of water to loosen the sauce
- Light soy sauce for saltiness
- Rice vinegar or lime juice for tang
- Tahini/ sesame paste for a nutty richness.
- Peanut butter for creaminess
- Hot sauce or chili oil (optional) for an extra kick.
- Brown sugar or honey for a hint of sweetness.
- Bringing it All Together: Take a block of soft silken tofu and pour the sauce generously over the top. The silky tofu will absorb the bold flavors of the sauce, creating a melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s irresistible.
- Garnish. Finish with scallions and a generous dollop of your favourite chilli oil or even better, my Triple Chilli Crisp.
